Well most of the time the terms leadership and bossism are
used in the same context but as a learner of management concepts the one have
to know about the significant differences between leadership and bossism.
Many a time a boss may consider himself as a leader but to
identify the basic difference is that a boss uses a negative approach as he/she
always insist the subordinates to accomplish his/her goals or targets by his
own ways and never mind what the subordinates think and most of the time the
boss didn’t take even suggestions from the subordinates.
Whereas, a leader uses a positive approach and care about
the point of view of the subordinates and believes in work it out together.

The most significant point or characteristic of a leader is
that he/she are the inspirational figures for their subordinates or followers and
on the other hand a boss drives the employee to do the work and instills the
fear in employee by threats and coercion which results in accomplishment of
work at the expense of the employees.
The leader fixes the blame for loss in production or sales
on himself and assumes obligation and in the same situation a boss will pass
the buck on the subordinates.
So, it is important for the management to be leader to bring
out maximum from the subordinates and employees.
A leader will be more beneficial for the organizations than
a boss as its important to go forward as a team rather than as a individual.
